Bio

I've been in love with making music since I was 12 years old, starting out approximating dance music with a Commodore Amiga. My obsession moved to the guitar at 15, and I was soon making sound-on-sound recordings with two cassette decks. I have upgraded my studio somewhat since then.

I went to study music in Edinburgh, and when I moved to London in 2007 I quickly found myself working my way up the ranks in the legendary Fortress Studios Neve room, first assisting for the likes of Madness and The Breeders, and then engineering for producers including Mike Chapman, George Clinton and Joe Goddard, and artists such as Suzi Quatro, Roots Manuva, Madness, The Breeders, and Speech Debelle.

Following the closure of the Fortress Neve room, I shifted my focus from engineering to production and co-writing, and have my own private studio where I've been cowriting with Saint Leonard's Horses (formerly Kieran Leonard), Emmy The Great, Roxanne Tataei and Mercury winner Speech Debelle, among many others. I've also been working as house engineer at the Cowshed Studio, regularly recording to tape, and with artists including Boy George, Pee Wee Ellis, and Kav (ex Happy Mondays). I've also run sessions at Miloco Square, Westpoint and Red Room (formerly Engine Room); The Crypt, Snap!, Goldsmiths, Jacket Studios, and many others.

I'm working on my own album project in spare time. I often perform with the artists I work with, on guitars, bass, keys and backing vocals. I love collaborating with fine artists when I get the chance.

I still have that Commodore Amiga.
